Overview

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, a national law firm with offices in all 50 states, has an immediate opening for a Construction paralegal to work in its fast paced and welcoming Raleigh office. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years of experience and should have experience handling electronic court filings. 

 

This position requires excellent computer and document organization skills, a working knowledge/experience with Word, Outlook, and a familiarity with iManage or other document management systems. Experience with e-discovery platforms and timekeeping experience utilizing iTimekeep and/or other timekeeping software is preferred. This is a full-time position, which may have flexible options for a hybrid schedule.

 

Candidates should have strong organizational and communication skills, pay high attention to detail, be self-motivated, with the ability to multitask and be able to prioritize work for multiple attorneys.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Organize records, documents, correspondence, and files into a manageable format.
  • Prepare medical record chronologies.
  • Analysis and review of case documents in order to assist in deposition and trial preparation.
  • Contact clients, witnesses, experts, third parties, and opposing counsel to obtain information pertinent to the case matter.
  • Assist attorneys in research, drafting pleadings, subpoenas for records, public records requests, disclosures, interrogatories, discovery requests, and motions while under supervision.
  • Work closely with legal assistants to schedule and calendar for attorney depositions and activities related to depositions (i.e. court reporter, witnesses, opposing counsel).
  • Track all requests made for documents and records, follow up on status of requests, and verify receipt of documents and records.
  • Record all billable and non-billable time spent on case files and client matters.
  • Follow the ethical requirements as set forth by the North Carolina Rules of Professional Conduct.
  • A Paralegal certificate or degree is required.
